On July 18, 2017, Michael Leptic launched a progressive campaign for Allegany County Commissioner and spent more than a year visiting residents across Allegany County to propose a new political vision of prosperity for a financially declining community. On November 6, 2018, Michael earned the votes of 3,667 residents who vehemently supported his vision to move Allegany County forward.
A native of Western Maryland, Michael has lived and worked in Allegany County his entire life. A graduate of Beall High School in Frostburg, now formally known as Mountain Ridge, Michael continued his education to earn an Associate and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Psychology from Ashworth College, a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from Northcentral University, and is seeking his P.HD in Psychology with a specialization in addictions.
Michael's professional background consists of over 17 years of professional management experience supervising the operations of retail businesses such as AT&T Authorized Retailers, Movie Gallery, Shenk & Tittle Sports, and owning his own photography business, M.S.L Photography, since 2012. In addition, Michael also has nearly six years of private security experience as a security supervisor that oversees the safety and security operations of several highly secured locations of a large health insurance company.
As an active member of several organizations, Michael is a firm supporter of equality for all people. Memberships include the American Psychological Association, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the Human Rights Campaign, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the National Association of Addiction Professionals.
Michael has not set aside his motivation to better his community as he firmly believes there is plenty of work left to do. As of 10/26/19, Michael has launched a campaign for the Allegany County Board of Education during the 2020 election cycle.
